About The Author

Dr. Rubaiul Murshed, Dr. Md. Lutfar Rahman, Dr. Praful B Pawar

Dr. Rubaiul Murshed completed his medical graduation from Dhaka Medical College in the early 80's. He was engaged in teaching at both Dhaka and Mymensingh Medical Colleges and did his post graduation in paediatric surgery from London. After returning to Bangladesh in late 90's he took up clinical practice for a couple of years. Then he proceeded to Canberra to complete his M.Phil in public health (focus: Public Health Services Management). His Ph.D thesis is on 'Developing Policy and Procedures to Standardize Hospitals'. He has been a Professor at the SUB and NSU teaching Health Services and Hospital Management.

Dr. Md. Lutfar Rahman is working as Director at Grammen Kallayan with Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus. Before this assignment he was at Ahsania Mission Cancer and General Hospital's project Director. He was a t Government official and managed different hospitals and projects including DMCH and BSMMU. He also worked as Executive Director at Bangladesh Institute of Health Sciences Hospital. He was involved as National Consultant on Quality Assurance Program and Planning & Management officer in WHO.

Dr. Praful B Pawar did his medical graduation from University of Nagpur in India in 1971. He then served in the Indian Army Medical Corps from 19711976 and was member of the Indian Army that helped in liberation of Bangladesh. He joined Apollo Group in Dec. 2003 as Consultant in International Patient Care. Dr. Praful B Pawar, while serving as the CEO of Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai, passed away on 21st December 2011.
