Over the past six decades, India's competitive political process has brought the country's diverse population into the fabric of a nation and a democratic political system. Politics in India analyses this achievement, rare among post-colonial states, in the areas of democracy, governance, economic growth, welfare, citizenship, and poverty reduction.
