নীরদচন্দ্র চৌধুরী (জন্ম: ২৩ নভেম্বর, ১৮৯৭ - মৃত্যু: ১ আগস্ট, ১৯৯৯) একজন খ্যাতনামা দীর্ঘজীবী বাঙালি মননশীল লেখক ও বিশিষ্ট চিন্তাবিদ। স্কলার এক্সট্রাঅর্ডিনারী শীর্ষক ম্যাক্স মুলারের জীবনী লিখে ১৯৭৫ খ্রিষ্টাব্দে নীরদচন্দ্র চৌধুরী ভারত সরকার প্রদত্ত দ্বিতীয় সর্বোচ্চ সাহিত্য সম্মাননা হিসেবে সাহিত্য অকাদেমি পুরস্কার লাভ করেন। তিনি তার ঐতিহাসিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি ও তির্যক প্রকাশভঙ্গির জন্য বিশেষভাবে আলোচিত ছিলেন উপেন্দ্র নারায়ণ চৌধুরী ও সুশীলা সুন্দরী চৌধুরানীর ৮ সন্তানের মধ্যে দ্বিতীয় নীরদ চৌধুরী তৎকালীন ব্রিটিশ ভারতের অবিভক্ত বাংলা (বর্তমান বাংলাদেশের) কিশোরগঞ্জ জেলার কটিয়াদীতে ১৮৯৭ খ্রিষ্টাব্দের ২৩ নভেম্বর জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তিনি বাংলাদেশের কিশোরগঞ্জ এবং কলকাতায় পড়াশোনা করেছেন। এফএ পরীক্ষা পাশ করে তিনি কলকাতার রিপন কলেজে (বর্তমান সুরেন্দ্রনাথ কলেজ) অন্যতম বাঙালি লেখক বিভূতিভূষণ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সাথে একত্রে ভর্তি হন। এরপর নীরদ কলকাতার অন্যতম খ্যাতিমান স্কটিশ চার্চ কলেজে ইতিহাস বিভাগে ভর্তি হন। ১৯১৮ খ্রিষ্টাব্দে কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধীন স্কটিস চার্চ কলেজের ছাত্র হিসেবে তিনি ইতিহাসে সম্মানসহ স্নাতক ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন এবং মেধা তালিকায় নিজের স্থান করে নেন। স্কটিশ চার্চ কলেজের সেমিনারে ভারতবর্ষের অতিপরিচিত ব্যক্তিত্ব ও ইতিহাসবেত্তা প্রফেসর কালিদাস নাগের সাথে অংশগ্রহণ করেন। স্নাতক ডিগ্রি অর্জনের পর তিনি কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে মাস্টার্স ডিগ্রিতে ভর্তি হলেও ১৯২০-এর অনুষ্ঠিত এম. এ. পরীক্ষায় অংশ না নেয়ায় স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করতে পারেন নি। এখানেই তার প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক শিক্ষার ইতি। ইতোমধ্যে ১৯১৭ খ্রিষ্টাব্দে Objective Methods in History শিরোনামে একটি তাত্ত্বিক প্রবন্ধ রচনা করেন|
