Acknowledgement The book, ‘Bangladesh folk life, and Folklore for Ages’ is now finally ready for print by the grace of Allah. A dream Allah has fulfilled. Bangladesh was once known as the Golden Bengal for her economic wellbeing and prosperity. Jute was then the golden fibre that helped quality product in the world and so was the ‘Muslin’, a product of a special kind of cotton fibre produced by the Bengal weavers. It caught the world market since the period of the Mughals. The British forced the weavers from producing Muslin in order to sell their own product and tortured them brutally to such an extent that led to the cutting of their thumbs. Our young people have no knowledge of all these. The Cultural Heritage of Bangladesh is a detailed study of our heritage beginning from the pre-Aryan period to the present. In my study, I collected information from different sources–using libraries, books, journals and periodicals and stories published in the News Papers such as The Daily Star, The Sun. Over and above -- it was the website, the Wikipedia, Banglapedia and many other sources as were available through the Google services. I must admit that the internet service in the Google had helped me beyond my imagination. It was a ready library. I picked up things which I needed and analyzed all these in my own way. Here I acknowledge all these in gratitude. Meanwhile, I express my heart-felt gratitude to Mr. Kazi Saiful Karim, Managing Director KPC Limited and the Vice President of Korea- Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce for his contribution to the printing and publishing of my books, The Cultural Heritage of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Folk life and Folklore for ages. He is indeed a great soul. Mr. Golam Kibria of Karubak publication, Concord Tower, Katabon as publishers of my book. VII 8 Bangladesh Folk life
