Hill Tracts of Bangladesh

The anthology includes 18 articles of enduring significance on Chittagong Hill Tracts by the authors from the British colonial era to the present time which were based on their intimate personal experiences. The writers had interactions with the dwellers of this backward region and have witnessed the life and livelihoods of people belonging to diverse ethnic communities with distinct cultural backgrounds. The subject of the selected articles covers history, heritage, livelihoods, land issue, environment, forestry, wildlife, tourism, peace building, reminiscences etc. The collection of articles aims to share stories, anecdotes and experiences of people who served, worked and researched in Hill Tracts over a long period of time and thereby broaden the horizon of readers' knowledge and understanding about the region.
