Untitled, Till We Meet Again

Titles, as we all know, are always somehow, tentative. But life isn't. There is a finality, a march of inevitableness, a gloom of receding trajectory, a sense of waste shrouding it all. In this fish-tank existence of ours "the fish, a size of the smallest whale, / Swimming in a lake the size of a dream" stares at us. This is the land we inhabit, where "pixies' dance pointlessly in the moonlight where her “pixelated presence was enough / For delusions of grandeur." But we know not to "touch love when it's twirling." After “Finding Chi”, his first collection of startling poems, in this second book his overarching desire is eventually “To stand tall, / Stand strong, / Because my shadow unlike yours / Always remains." Because "We have poisoned our bones / So poisoned, we need to leave it / Before we poison the grounds it stands on / to extinction", we can do no otherwise. We cannot ignore the disillusionment, demagoguery and decrepitude around us, nor can we ignore the poetic musings of Rahul Haque in this second book "Untitled, Till We Meet Again", who despite everything, hints at the possibility of yet another encounter.
