V. N. Datta

Vishwa Nath Datta (20 March 1926 – 30 November 2020) was an Indian historian. He was Professor Emeritus in Kurukshetra University and General President of the Indian History Congress, Resident Fellow of Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, a Visiting Professor to a number of universities including Moscow, Leningrad, Berlin. Datta was born in Amritsar, India, to the leading businessman [owning Shankar Das Vishwa Nath Company] and renowned Urdu-Persian poet Padma Shri Brahm Nath Datta 'Qasir'
