Why this Book? Dr B R Ambedkar had said these iconic lines, about the Constitution, so aptly- “However good a Constitution may be, if those who are implementing it are not good, it will prove to be bad. However bad a Constitution may be, if those implementing it are good, it will prove to be good.” This book is outcome of study and research of post-independence political events, several years of observations of political perversions inflicted on the Constitution by “those implementing” it. The book reveals how the ambiguity was created and gaps in the law exploited to mutilate the Constitution under Congress regime. It is study of contradictions of India declaring it a “secular” country and then doling out unparalleled privileges (based on religion) to every religious community except Hindus. Further, it is analysis of having two sets of laws, based on religious beliefs, to apply on its two sets of citizens. It is study of conflicts of India declaring it a “democratic republic” but leaving the political parties to retain autocracy and dynasty. It is exploration of the paradox of India having (among the) lengthiest Constitution but finding itself ill-equipped vis-à-vis adequacy and efficiency of laws to deal with multiple and unique challenges it is facing. It is scrutiny of the deceit, played for long on the majority community in the name of secularism. The book identifies 21 laws that India urgently needs to preserve its civilization, culture, traditions, ancient values; protection from onslaught of aggressive, monolithic and hungry predators on conversion. And off course: to save the democracy.
