The Aryans, a fascinating history of the linguistic and racial history of Europe and Asia, explores the origin and diffucion of those languages to which we, in common with the ancient Greeks, Romans, and Hindus, are heirs. In fact, no full discussion of the Aryan question has appeared in English for the last many years, while during that time the Minoan origings of the pre-Hellenic civilization of Greece, the presence of Aryan rulers in Mesopotamia by the fifteenth century and of an Indo-European element in the Hittie language have been revealed..... V. Gordon Childe was a remarkable man who is considered the father of modern archaeology who specialised in the study of European prehistory. A vocal socialist,Childe accepted the socio-economic theory of Marxism and was an early, though unorthodox, proponent of Marxist archaeology. Childe was the author of several well-known books on the subject of archaeology and prehistory.

V. Gordon Childe

V. Gordon Childe (14 April 1892 – 19 October 1957) was an Australian archaeologist who specialised in the study of European prehistory. He spent most of his life in the United Kingdom, working as an academic for the University of Edinburgh and then the Institute of Archaeology, London. He wrote twenty-six books during his career. Initially an early proponent of culture-historical archaeology, he later became the first exponent of Marxist archaeology in the Western world.
